Family Big Beach Picnic

Millenium Field, 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Presented by Friends of Blackmore School.

Friends of Blackmore School are excited to be kicking off the Blackmore Village Fayre weekend with our family beach picnic in Millennium Field! Bring your own picnic and deckchair (or an picnic rug!) and join us for some good old family fun. All families from the parish are welcome, not just children attending the primary school.

🏝️ Entry is £1 per person (cash only), and the event will take place outside no matter what the weather

🏝️ Bring your own picnic (no BBQs allowed)

🏝️ Soft drinks, ice creams & sweet treats avaiable to buy (cash only)

🏝️ Free children’s activities including beach volleyball and a visit from the coastguard

🏝️ Children’s pocket money toys (cash only)

🏝️ No dogs, bikes or scooters allowed into the park

🏝️ Toilets avaiable in Blackmore Village Hall

🏝️ Parking is extremely limited so please arrive on foot if possible

Festival of Sport

Blackmore Sports Field (Behind the Sports & Social club)
Saturday 24th May - Arrive 8.45am for 9am start to 1.30pm
If you are year 3 to year 10 come and join in!

Come and join in with the Blackmore Village Fayre FESTIVAL OF SPORT. It’s great fun and you don’t have to be a super athlete. We just want you to join in and experience the brilliant activities and fantastic atmosphere.

There are three teams: NEMO, DORY and BRUCE. Each team will consist of children from two age groups, school year 3 to year 6 and school year 7 to year 10. Each age group will compete against each other in the various events.

Bacon rolls, sausage rolls, Burgers, coffee and refreshments will all be available on the day.

Scarecrow Trail & Competition

Design a scarecrow representing seaside or under the sea.

Scarecrows for judging should be taken to St Laurence's Church on Saturday 24th at 3.00 pm. Judging will be at 4.40pm by Rev Sam.

The Sweetest Kill are a young, female-fronted covers band with electric stage presence and heaps of energy. Expect your favourite indie, britpop, rock, alternative rock 60s-present, punk, pop punk, new wave and more!

8.20pm: East of Java

There is probably no one that hasn’t heard of East of Java. Comprising of hugely experienced professional musicians, each successful in their own right. In the many years since they formed, they have developed a huge following of loyal fans and have risen to the very top of London & Essex’s live music circuit. Having completed many tours in Europe as well as a special appearance in the USA, you know you’ll be in for a great treat

9.45pm : Main act : Expose

Exposé are without doubt the number one covers band on the Essex circuit today. A regular band featured on the main stage at the Brentwood Festival they play tracks from all genres - guaranteed to get you singing & on your feet!

Seaside Kart Event

12pm to 1pm, prizes available.

Build a Seaside Kart and compete in a time trial

THE CHALLENGE… use your own materials to design and build a single seat ‘kart’ to carry a child of your choice, propelled solely by an adult, around our course. Each team will compete separately, it’s not a race against other teams it’s a race against the clock!

THE THEME… seaside for the karts (fancy dress optional!)

Blackmore Village Fayre Charity Bike Ride

On closed roads around Blackmore
Monday 26th May 2025 - Ride starts at 3.00pm

You will be cycling as far as your stamina will allow, up to a maximum of one hour; so oil that chain, pump up those tyres, load up on pasta and ride as many as two and a quarter mile laps of our closed circuit as you can. This very popular event takes riders into pleasant countryside around Blackmore and Spriggs Lane.

We are looking for volunteers!

Volunteering is a great way to contribute to everyone’s safe enjoyment of the Fayre. We need volunteers to act as Marshalls, run the stalls and help with set up and take down. Even a few hours of your time would be very much appreciated! Please contact blackmorevillagefayre@gmail.com

We want everyone attending the Village Fayre to have an enjoyable time. The Organisers and Marshalls will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the safety of the public and volunteers is a top priority. However, it is not possible for the Organisers to eliminate all risks including the risk of injury. Specific activities and events have specific safety warnings and instructions for participation: please read these carefully and understand them before participating. In general, by agreeing to participate in the activities and events of the Fayre, you accept that:
1. You must always act responsibly and sensibly
2. You must not participate if unwell, under the influence of alcohol or prescription drugs, or subject to any condition that might impair judgement
3. You must observe all safety warnings or instructions displayed or given by Marshalls and organisers
4. You must take responsibility for ensuring that you are fit to participate
Please discuss with an Organiser or Marshall if you have any question about safety or there is anything you do not understand.
